Knitting: Bianca style scarf, autumn colours
My second knitting project completed. So pleased with this one! Was so much fun knitting it too. I completed it last night and this morning, once my headache subsided, I added the fringe. Between the dozing off, that is.
Terrible flare this past week, absolutely floored. Muscle pain all over, exhaustion, headaches, joint pains, and this overpowering sleepiness (different to the exhaustion) – all more than usual. But it’s done!
I made it short as I don’t usually wear a scarf without the coat and then with such chunky yarn it would be seriously puffy inside my coat.
I’m of the opinion winter scarves are functional not decorative, so mine always get tucked into the coat for maximum insulation.
I just took knitting up again this week and am loving it so far. It’s perfect for flare times because it’s repetitive and low exertion.
Picked up an old work in progress tonight that’s a bit more complicated and I’ve already unpicked a few rows three or four times because I can’t remember where in the pattern I was.
Had to switch off Netflix and give it my full attention, and have a notebook to note rows and stitches in so I can keep track now. If it’s too complicated I might have to start something new with a simpler pattern.
Even though it’s a low exertion activity, breaks are still important. Built up over time it’s still quite a significant exertion. Specially on my hands and arm muscles.
The yarn used for this scarf was from Lidl. It’s 100% polyester, “Bianca” style knitting set.
